Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 1, 2026

1. Information we collect

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and chosen password (stored as a hashed value — we never see your plain-text password). If you connect your Google account, we also receive your Google profile information (name and email) via OAuth. When you create or enroll in a class, we collect the details you provide (class title, description, subject, schedule, and price for teachers; enrollment confirmation for students). We collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps) for security monitoring and performance analytics.

2. How we use your information

We use your information solely to operate MeetLesson: • Account management — to authenticate you, manage your profile, and send transactional emails (enrollment confirmation, class reminders, receipts). • Class delivery — to generate Google Meet links, send Google Calendar invites, and connect students with their teacher. • Payments — to process enrollment fees and pay teacher earnings via Stripe. We pass only the minimum required information to Stripe; your full card number is never stored on our servers. • Platform safety — to detect fraud, investigate abuse reports, and enforce our Terms of Service. • Improvements — aggregated, anonymised usage data helps us identify which features to improve. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Data sharing

We share data only as required to deliver the service: • Google — to create Meet links and Calendar invites on your behalf (only if you connect your Google account). • Stripe — to process payments. Stripe's privacy policy applies to data shared with them. • Hosting providers — our infrastructure partners store data on servers located in the United States and the European Union under standard contractual clauses. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of MeetLesson, our users, or the public.

4. Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove personally identifiable information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., financial records for tax purposes, which we keep for up to 7 years).

5. Cookies

MeetLesson uses a single session cookie to keep you logged in across page refreshes. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so will log you out on each page load.

6. Your rights

Depending on your location you may have the right to: • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. • Correction — ask us to fix inaccurate information. • Deletion — request that we delete your account and associated data. • Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format. • Objection — object to certain types of processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us from your dashboard or email us at privacy@meetlesson.com.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data: HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, hashed passwords using bcrypt, and access controls limiting who on our team can view user data. No system is 100% secure; in the event of a breach we will notify affected users as required by applicable law.

8. Children

MeetLesson is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of MeetLesson after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
